ＮＰＴ会議決裂に憤り　核廃絶団体や被爆者が声明

　核拡散防止条約（ＮＰＴ）再検討会議が、ロシアの反対により最終文書を採択できず決裂したことに対し、核廃絶に取り組む団体や被爆者は２９日、声明や記者会見を通じて憤りをあらわにした。
　核兵器廃絶日本ＮＧＯ連絡会は同日、オンラインで記者会見を開いた。共同代表を務める核兵器廃絶国際キャンペーン（ＩＣＡＮ）国際運営委員の川崎哲さん（５３）は「会議を決裂させた責任はロシアにある」と指摘。核兵器保有国が先制不使用などを拒絶したことを「不誠実で傲慢（ごうまん）」と批判した。
　日本原水爆被害者団体協議会（日本被団協）代表委員の田中熙巳さん（９０）は、新型コロナウイルス禍による度重なる延期や、ロシアのウクライナ侵攻により合意できなくなる不安があったと明かした上で「（不採択が）現実になり非常に残念」と落胆。「被爆者が生きている限り、廃絶への道をつくり上げていきたい」と力を込めた。
　日本被団協は同日、「不採択にひるむことなく、核兵器を廃絶し人類の危機を救うことを訴えます」とする声明を発表した。
　広島の被爆者７団体も声明を発表し、広島市内で記者会見した。声明では、２０１５年に続く決裂に「この間の私たちの願いは一体、何だったのか。失望と憤りでいっぱいだ」とし、「ＮＰＴは存立の危機に立っている。核兵器禁止条約の必要性が一層、明らかになった」と指摘した。（2022/08/30-07:09）

Anti-nuclear activists and hibakusha atomic bomb survivors expressed their indignation Monday after the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty review conference ended without a final agreement.
   "Russia should solely be held responsible for the conference falling through," said Akira Kawasaki, co-head of the Japan NGO Network for Nuclear Weapons Abolition and a steering committee member of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons, or ICAN.
   Kawasaki, 53, also criticized nuclear powers for their "insincerity and arrogance" in rejecting a policy of no first use.
   Terumi Tanaka, 90, co-chair of the Japan Confederation of A- and H-Bomb Sufferers Organizations, or Nihon Hidankyo, first said he had been worried about the possibility of the conference not concluding with an agreement due to multiple delays caused by the coronavirus pandemic as well as Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
   Then the hibakusha leader noted, "I am extremely disappointed that (the failure to reach an agreement) became reality." But at the same time, Tanaka stressed that he wants to create the path for abolition of nuclear weapons "as long as hibakusha are alive."
