西九州新幹線、車両デザイン公表　２２年秋に暫定開業―ＪＲ九州

　ＪＲ九州は２８日、２０２２年秋の開業を予定する西九州新幹線（武雄温泉―長崎）の車両デザインの詳細を公表した。Ｎ７００Ｓ系の白い車体に同社を象徴する色である赤が引き立ち、青柳俊彦社長による愛称「かもめ」の毛筆書体なども配置。記者会見した青柳社長は「九州らしいオンリーワンの車両。短時間で心地よく旅行できることを目指した」と語った。（2021/07/28-16:54）

JR Kyushu Unveils Designs for New Shinkansen Bullet Train

Kyushu Railway Co. , or JR Kyushu, unveiled on Wednesday detailed designs for its new Nishi Kyushu Shinkansen bullet train, which is slated to start operations in southwestern Japan in autumn 2022.
The N700S train will feature a red line, the color representing the company, on its white body. It will also have the train name "Kamome," which means seagull, placed on the exterior in Japanese calligraphy drawn by the company's president and CEO, Toshihiko Aoyagi.
