三菱重が艦艇事業取得　三井Ｅ＆Ｓと最終合意、官公庁船も

　三菱重工業は２９日、三井Ｅ＆Ｓ造船（東京）から護衛艦などの防衛省向け艦艇事業を譲り受けることで最終合意したと発表した。昨年６月に基本合意していたもので、海上保安庁向け巡視船など官公庁船事業も取得する。１０月の取引完了を目指す。取得額は数十億円程度とみられる。
　再編で、日本の護衛艦事業は、三菱重工とジャパンマリンユナイテッド（横浜市）の２社に集約される。潜水艦は既に三菱重工と川崎重工業の２社体制となっている。
　三菱重工の泉沢清次社長は２９日午後、東京都内で記者会見し、「技術や人材を承継することで艦艇事業を強化し、日本の海洋安全保障に一層貢献していく」と語った。そろって会見した三井Ｅ＆Ｓ造船の親会社、三井Ｅ＆Ｓホールディングス（ＨＤ）の岡良一社長は「造船の技能・技術の伝承・発展を強化できる」と述べた。（2021/03/29-18:42）

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Monday that it has clinched a final agreement to acquire Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding Co.'s operations of constructing Defense Ministry ships, including Self-Defense Forces vessels.
   Mitsubishi Heavy will also take over Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding's business for other public-sector ships, such as patrol boats of the Japan Coast Guard. The two companies are aiming to complete the business transfer in October. The value of the deal is estimated to be billions of yen.
   The two companies reached a basic agreement on the business transfer in June last year.
   The move will make Mitsubishi Heavy and Japan Marine United Corp. the only builders of SDF destroyers. Japan Marine United is partly owned by major Japanese steelmaking and engineering group JFE Holdings Inc. and major Japanese heavy machinery maker IHI Corp. . Mitsubishi Heavy and Kawasaki Heavy Industries Ltd. are already the only companies that build SDF submarines.
   "By taking over the technologies and human resources of Mitsui E&S Shipbuilding, we aim to strengthen our SDF ship business and further contributing to Japan's maritime security," Mitsubishi Heavy President Seiji Izumisawa told a press conference in Tokyo.
