「ラグビー外交」スタート＝Ｗ杯に合わせ、強豪国要人と会談－安倍首相

　ラグビーのワールドカップ（Ｗ杯）日本大会が２０日に開幕するのに合わせ、ラグビー強豪国から要人が相次ぎ来日する。安倍晋三首相は各首脳らとスポーツの話題で親交を深めたい考え。１９日はニュージーランド（ＮＺ）のアーダーン首相と会談。互いのファーストネームが入ったユニホームを交換するなど友好ムードを演出した。
　「オールブラックスと日本代表が決勝の舞台で対戦することを心から祈っている」。安倍氏は会談後の共同記者発表でＮＺ代表チームの名を挙げてエールを送った。アーダーン氏は「オールブラックスのサポーターに対するおもてなしに感謝する」と、にこやかに応じた。
　安倍氏は１８日にオーストラリアのモリソン首相と電話会談し、両国代表の健闘を誓い合った。１９日夜には東京都内で組織委員会などが主催した式典に出席し、「日本国民が一丸となり、最高のおもてなしでお迎えしたい」と述べた。
　外務省などによると、大会期間中、出場国の英国やフランス、フィジーなどから王室や政府要人が観戦のため訪日する。自国チームが勝ち進めば来日する要人が増えると見込んでおり、安倍氏との会談を調整する方針だ。（2019/09/19-21:07）

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe is seeking to establish a good rapport with leaders of powerhouse nations competing at the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan, which kicks off Friday, as they fly into the country for the tournament.
   Abe met with New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern on Thursday, and the two leaders exchanged rugby jerseys bearing each other's first names.
   "I pray in earnest that the All Blacks and the Japanese national team will face off in the final match," Abe said at a joint press conference with Ardern after the meeting. All Blacks is the moniker of the New Zealand national rugby football team.
   Ardern expressed gratitude for the welcome Japan extended to All Blacks supporters.
   Abe spoke with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison on the phone on Wednesday. They wished each other's national team the best for the tournament.
