吉野さん著書に注文殺到＝在庫払底、早々に増刷

　旭化成名誉フェロー吉野彰さん（７１）のノーベル化学賞受賞が決まり、吉野さんの著作に注文が殺到している。出版社の担当者は「問い合わせがひっきりなしだ」と悲鳴を上げ、書店では「祝！受賞」と掲示するとともに、少ない在庫を目立つ場所に並べるなど対応に追われた。
　「大変好評を頂いている」。産業技術向けの専門書を扱う出版社「シーエムシー出版」（東京）には、書店からの注文の問い合わせが相次ぐ。リチウムイオン電池について、吉野さんが一般向けに開発秘話などを書いた書籍の増刷を早々に決めたといい、担当者は「科学系の読み物はなかなか売れないのでうれしい」と声を弾ませる。
　豊島区のジュンク堂書店池袋本店では、受賞が決まった９日夜から、吉野さんの著作の取り置きを求める電話が相次いだ。もともと在庫が数少なかったといい、１０日午前中に完売した。
　吉野さんが科学への興味を持つきっかけになった本として挙げる英科学者ファラデーの著書「ロウソクの科学」も売れ行きは好調で、「注文した本が出版社から届き次第、特設コーナーを設置する」としている。（2019/10/10-15:49）

Orders are pouring in for books written by Japanese researcher Akira Yoshino, after he was named one of the three laureates of this year's Nobel Prize in Chemistry.
   "We're receiving never-ending inquiries" for his books, an official of a publisher said.
   Bookstores are scrambling to respond to the Nobel prize for Yoshino, including displaying signs congratulating him and placing his books, stocks of which are low, where customers can see them.
   The books "are extremely well received," an official at CMC Publishing Co., a Tokyo-based publisher for technical books on industrial technology, said. The company has received a flurry of orders for Yoshino's books from bookstores.
   CMC Publishing has decided to quickly reprint books written for the public, which include behind-the-scenes stories on developing lithium-ion batteries, by Yoshino, 71, honorary fellow of Japanese chemical maker Asahi Kasei Corp. .
