入学準備、６割「生活費削る」　「困窮家庭への助成拡大を」―ＮＧＯ調査

　中学・高校に今春進学する子を持つ困窮家庭の保護者の約６割が、入学準備のため「生活費を削る」と考えていることが２８日、国際ＮＧＯの調査で分かった。担当者は「進学時に必要な制服やタブレット代などの負担軽減のため、国や自治体による助成の拡大が必要だ」と訴えている。
　調査は国際ＮＧＯ「セーブ・ザ・チルドレン・ジャパン」（東京都千代田区）が１月に実施。経済的な理由から同団体の給付金を申請した、今春進学予定の子がいる保護者２１３５人からオンラインなどで回答を得た。
　必要な費用の捻出方法を複数回答で尋ねたところ、「他の生活費を削る」が最多で、新中学生の保護者で６３．５％、新高校生でも５９．９％に上った。
　何を削減するか（複数回答）では「親の食事量を減らす」が７１．３％で最も多く、「冷暖房を控える」（６５．４％）、「子どもの衣類・靴の購入を抑える」（６３．２％）と続いた。
　進学時に用意が難しいものとして、「制服代」や「パソコン・タブレット代」などを挙げる声が目立った。自由記述欄では「そろえないといけないものが多い上に金額が高い。進学を素直に喜べず、子どもに申し訳ない」（東京都内の新中学生の母親）などと嘆く声があった。（2025/03/28-13:48）

Many needy households in Japan with children set to enroll in junior or senior high schools next month are considering reducing their living costs to cover spending necessary for the new school life, a survey has found.
   The survey by nongovernmental organization Save the Children Japan was conducted in January, covering 2,135 parents and other guardians of such children who have applied for benefits offered by the organization for financial reasons.
   With multiple answers allowed, the survey asked how the respondents plan on securing enough money to pay for items necessary for their children's new school life.
   A total of 63.5 pct of guardians of children starting their first year of junior high school said they will cut living expenses, while the same response was given by 59.9 pct of guardians of children entering high school.
   "Both the central and local governments need to expand their subsidies so as to reduce (such households') burden of paying for uniforms and tablet devices necessary for students advancing" to junior and senior high school, an official at Save the Children Japan said.
