北朝鮮船、海保巡視船を威嚇か＝政府、北京ルートで抗議

　日本海に広がる日本の排他的経済水域内で８月下旬、北朝鮮公船とみられる武装船が海上保安庁の巡視船に接近し、威嚇のような行動を取っていたことが分かった。日本政府は北京の大使館ルートを通じ、北朝鮮に厳重に抗議した。
　日本政府関係者によると、石川県・能登半島沖の好漁場「大和堆（やまとたい）」の西方で８月２３日午前９時半ごろ、外国漁船の違法操業を監視していた水産庁の取締船が船籍不明船舶を発見。普段見かけない形の船だったため危険と判断し、付近で操業していた日本漁船に退避を求めた。
　同じ水域で２４日午前９時ごろ、通報を受け警戒していた海保の巡視船が同一と目される船を確認。高速艇とみられ、巡視船に約３０メートルの至近距離まで近づき、小銃らしき武器を向けてきたという。（2019/09/13-12:06）

A suspected armed North Korean government vessel entered Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan in late August, approached a Japanese patrol boat and engaged in what appeared intimidatory acts, sources said Friday.
   The Japanese government protested to Pyongyang through embassy channels in Beijing.
   A Japanese Fisheries Agency enforcement boat patrolling for illegal fishing by foreign ships encountered the vessel of unknown nationality to the west of Yamatotai, a rich fishing ground off the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan, around 9:30 a.m. Aug. 23 (12:30 a.m. GMT), the government sources said.
   The agency determined the vessel with an unfamiliar shape to be a risk and ordered Japanese fishing boats operating nearby to evacuate from the area.
   A Japan Coast Guard patrol ship, after receiving a report of the suspicious ship, found what appeared the same vessel in the same area around 9 a.m. the following day.
