オミクロン株感染の２人死亡　基礎疾患ある高齢者―静岡・千葉

　静岡市は１５日、市内の医療機関で１１日に死亡した男性について、全遺伝情報（ゲノム）解析の結果、新型コロナウイルスの変異株「オミクロン株」に感染していたと発表した。千葉県も１１日に死亡した９０代以上の女性の同株感染を発表した。国内で同株感染者の死亡が判明したのは初めて。
　静岡市在住の男性は高齢で、重い基礎疾患があったという。一方、千葉県在住の女性には循環器系の基礎疾患があった。女性はコロナに感染した家族の濃厚接触者で、発熱などの症状があり、１月上旬から医療機関に入院していた。ワクチンは２回接種済みだったという。（2022/01/15-17:59）

The Shizuoka city government Saturday said that a man infected with the omicron coronavirus variant has died, reporting Japan's first confirmed omicron-linked death.
   The aged man with severe pre-existing conditions died at a medical institution in the capital of Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, on Tuesday.
   His infection with the highly contagious variant has been confirmed through genomic testing, the city government said.
   The omicron variant was first reported by South Africa in November last year. What appears the world's first fatal case was confirmed in Britain on Dec. 13 last year.
   As the new variant replaces the delta strain quickly, the weekly number of the world's new coronavirus cases has hit a record high of over 15 million.
