上皇后さまの手術無事終了＝乳がん摘出、転移認められず

　上皇后さま（８４）は８日、入院先の東大病院（東京都文京区）で左胸の乳がんの摘出手術を受けられた。手術は約４時間で無事終了。現状では転移は認められず、進行度は「ステージ１」で、数日で退院できる見通し。
　上皇后さまは午前１０時に手術室に入り、健康診断を１０年以上担当した静岡県立静岡がんセンター乳腺外科の医師と、東大病院乳腺・内分泌外科の医師が協力し、全身麻酔で手術を実施。午後２時すぎに病室に戻った。
　宮内庁は同日夜、手術結果について説明した。がんの大きさは約１センチで、乳房温存手術で行われ、周辺も含め５センチほど円形に摘出した。手術時の検査でリンパ節への転移は認められなかった。永井良三・皇室医務主管は「想定した中で一番軽い手術で済んだ。非常に良かった」と話した。今後、ホルモン療法などの治療を受ける見通し。
　上皇さま（８５）はこの日午前、東大病院を訪れ、手術室に向かう上皇后さまを、長女の黒田清子さん（５０）と見送った。午後も東大病院を訪れ、手術結果を上皇后さまや黒田さんと医師から聞き、安心した様子だったという。
　上皇后さまは７月１２日の定期健康診断で左胸の乳腺に腫瘤（しゅりゅう）が見つかり、８月２日に組織検査を受けた結果、比較的早期の乳がんと診断された。（2019/09/08-21:31）

Japan's Empress Emerita Michiko underwent a successful surgery to remove cancer in her left breast on Sunday.
   The operation, conducted at the University of Tokyo Hospital, ended in about four hours.
   The former Empress, 84, entered an operating room at 10 a.m. (1 a.m. GMT) to receive the surgery under general anesthesia and returned to her hospital room soon after 2 p.m. The operation was conducted jointly by doctors from the Shizuoka Cancer Center and the university hospital.
   The Imperial Household Agency plans to explain the results of the surgery and the Empress Emerita's condition later on Sunday. In the presurgery checkups, she was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer, with no clear signs of cancer metastasis.
   Her husband, Emperor Emeritus Akihito, 85, visited the university hospital on Sunday morning to encourage her and again on Sunday afternoon to be briefed by the doctors on the results of the surgery. Sayako Kuroda, the 50-year-old daughter of the couple also visited the hospital.
