上皇后さま、１０日に退院＝手術後の経過順調－宮内庁

　宮内庁は９日、東大病院（東京都文京区）で８日に乳がん手術を受けた上皇后さま（８４）が、手術後の経過がおおむね順調のため、１０日午後に退院されると発表した。
　同庁によると、上皇后さまは食事はまだ十分に取れない状況だが、食欲は少しずつ回復している。９日は病室を出て、廊下を歩いたという。
　上皇さまは８日に続き、９日夕方も東大病院を訪れ、病室で上皇后さまを見舞った。
　上皇后さまは７日に東大病院に入院し、８日に左胸の乳がんの摘出手術を受けた。がんの大きさは約１センチで、乳房温存手術で行われ、周辺も含め摘出。現状では転移は認められず、進行度は「ステージ１」とされた。（2019/09/09-19:50）

Japan's Empress Emerita Michiko, who underwent successful surgery to remove cancer in her left breast on Sunday, will be discharged from hospital on Tuesday afternoon, the Imperial Household Agency said Monday.
   The 84-year-old former Empress has been doing well since the operation at the University of Tokyo Hospital, the agency said.
   She has not been able to eat properly, but she is gradually regaining her appetite, the agency said. Also, she left her hospital room and walked in the hallway on Monday, it said.
   Her husband, Emperor Emeritus Akihito, visited the hospital Monday afternoon for the second straight day.
   Her cancer, about one centimeter in size, was removed in breast conservation surgery. She was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer, with no signs of metastasis.
