関電・八木会長が引責辞任＝原発めぐる金品受領で－第三者委に元検事総長但木氏

　関西電力は９日午前、臨時取締役会を開き、八木誠会長（６９）の辞任を決定した。関電では高浜原発が立地する福井県高浜町の森山栄治元助役（故人）から幹部ら２０人が多額の金品を受領したことが発覚。八木氏は当初、続投する意向を示していたが、批判の高まりを受けて一転、引責辞任する。「原発マネー」をめぐる長年の不透明なやりとりは、トップの辞任に発展した。
　岩根茂樹社長（６６）も大手電力会社でつくる電気事業連合会の会長を退き、金品受領問題を新たに調べる第三者委員会の調査結果がまとまる年内をめどに社長職を辞任する方向だ。第三者委の委員長には但木敬一元検事総長が就任する。（2019/10/09-13:36）

The board of Kansai Electric Power Co. , at an extraordinary meeting on Wednesday, approved the resignation of Chairman Makoto Yagi over a high-profile gift-receiving scandal involving 20 executives including Yagi and President Shigeki Iwane.
   Yagi's resignation, effective on the same day, comes amid mounting criticism of the scandal-hit power utility, which mainly serves the Kansai region in western Japan. After the scandal came to light last month, the 69-year-old chairman initially expressed his intention to stay in his post.
   Yagi is also likely to resign as vice chairman of the Kansai Economic Federation. He was viewed as the possible next chairman of the group, reflecting expectations for Kansai Electric's financial contributions to World Expo 2025 to be held in the region.
   Executive Vice President Ikuo Morinaka, who heads the company's nuclear business headquarters, will also step down.
   Iwane, 66, will step down as Kansai Electric president on the day when a third-party investigation panel submits a report on the scandal. He is also seen quitting the chairman post at the Federation of Electric Power Companies of Japan.
