都心でＰＡＣ３展開訓練＝ミサイル迎撃態勢に万全

　航空自衛隊は９日、東京・有明の東京臨海広域防災公園で、地上配備型迎撃ミサイルパトリオット（ＰＡＣ３）の展開訓練を行った。北朝鮮が弾道ミサイル発射を繰り返す中、ミサイル防衛に万全を期す狙い。河野太郎防衛相、小池百合子東京都知事らが視察した。
　日本のミサイル防衛は、イージス艦が大気圏外で迎撃し、撃ち漏らした場合にＰＡＣ３が高度十数キロで迎撃する二段構えだ。訓練には空自第１高射群第３高射隊（茨城県土浦市）の部隊約３０人が車両約１５台とともに参加。レーダーやミサイル発射機の設置などの手順を確認した。
　訓練を指揮した前田章輔第３高射隊長は記者団に「いついかなる場所でも速やかに展開することが必要だ」と語った。（2019/10/09-10:03）

Japan's Air Self-Defense Force carried out a quick deployment drill for its Patriot Advanced Capability-3, or PAC-3, missile interceptors in Tokyo on Wednesday, in order to fully prepare for missile defense operations.
   The drill, held at the Tokyo Rinkai Disaster Prevention Park, followed a series of ballistic missile firings by North Korea. On Oct. 2, a submarine-launched North Korean ballistic missile fell into waters in Japan's exclusive economic zone.
   Defense Minister Taro Kono, Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike and other officials inspected the exercise.
   Under Japan's current two-tier missile defense system, interceptors installed on Aegis destroyers shoot down missiles in outer space, while ground-based PAC-3 batteries are used to intercept missiles at altitudes of over 10 kilometers in case the Aegis system fails to destroy them.
   The drill was attended by a 30-strong unit of the ASDF's 1st Air Defense Missile Group stationed in the city of Tsuchiura in Ibaraki Prefecture, eastern Japan, along with 15 vehicles. Members of the unit confirmed procedures such as for setting up radars and interceptor launchers.
