日本の競争力、６位に後退＝教育・労働に課題－世界経済フォーラム
【ロンドン時事】世界の政財界トップが集まる「ダボス会議」を主催するスイスのシンクタンク「世界経済フォーラム」は９日、２０１９年の国際競争力ランキングを発表した。日本の総合順位は１４１カ国・地域中で６位と、前年の５位から後退した。
首位はシンガポール（前年２位）。２位に米国（同１位）、３位に香港（同７位）が入った。韓国が１３位、中国は２８位となった。
日本に関しては、「学校教育の長さでは世界屈指なのに、不十分な教育方法で技能の格差を拡大させている」と指摘。批判的な思考能力の教育が８７位にとどまっていることを課題に挙げた。労働市場の柔軟性の低さ（１０４位）や女性の労働参加の少なさ（６２位）なども低評価につながった。（2019/10/09-07:36）
Japan Falls to 6th in WEF Competitiveness Rankings in 2019
Japan fell to sixth from fifth in the World Economic Forum's global competitiveness rankings in 2019, mainly due to sluggish performance in education and working environments, a WEF report showed Wednesday.
Topping the list of the 141 economies in the Global Competitiveness Report this year was Singapore, which rose from second and replaced the United States.
Ranked second was the United States, followed by Hong Kong, which climbed from seventh. Among East Asian economies, South Korea was 13th and China 28th.
Japan was highly evaluated in business dynamism and innovation capability, ranking 17th and seventh, respectively.
The overall score, however, was weighed down by the poor performance in educational and labor fields.
