求人１．２４倍、２カ月連続低下　失業率は２．６％で横ばい―５月

　厚生労働省が２８日発表した５月の有効求人倍率（季節調整値）は、前月比０．０２ポイント低下の１．２４倍だった。物価高による家計の圧迫などを背景に求職者数が増加した。低下は２カ月連続。総務省が同日発表した５月の労働力調査によると、完全失業率（同）は２．６％で、横ばいだった。
　有効求人倍率は、ハローワークで仕事を探す求職者１人に対し、何人分の求人があるかを示す。有効求人数は０．１％増えたが、有効求職者数の伸びが１．９％で上回ったため、倍率が低下した。厚労省によると、「求職者からは物価高騰や収入減少で転職やダブルワークを望む声が寄せられている」（職業安定局）という。（2024/06/28-12:07）

Japan's seasonally adjusted ratio of effective job openings to seekers in May fell 0.02 point from the previous month to 1.24, the labor ministry said Friday.
   The ratio continued to drop because the number of job seekers increased as many faced higher costs of living due to persisting inflation.
   The ratio represents the number of job openings available to each seeker registered with Hello Work public job placement centers across the country.
   The number of effective job vacancies rose 0.1 pct, while seekers increased a bigger 1.9 pct, resulting in the decline in the job availability ratio.
   An Employment Security Bureau official said that many job seekers hope to change jobs or take on additional work for reasons such as rising prices and decreased income.
