アイヌ差別「ある」微増　内閣府調査、歴史の理解不十分

　内閣府は１４日、「アイヌに対する理解度に関する世論調査」結果を公表した。アイヌ民族への差別や偏見が「ある」と答えた割合は、２０１６年の前回調査と比べ３．４ポイント増の２１．３％。「ない」と答えたのは、同２２．０ポイント減の２８．７％だった。
　「ある」と答えた人に差別や偏見の背景を複数回答で尋ねると、「アイヌの歴史に関する理解の不十分さ」の７８．９％が最多で、「アイヌ文化に対する理解の不十分さ」７５．４％、「行政や学校教育でアイヌの人々への理解を深める取り組みの不十分さ」６１．３％が続いた。
　アイヌについて国民の関心を深める効果的方法（複数回答）を聞いたところ、最多は「テレビや新聞を利用した情報提供」の７４．３％だった。
　調査は昨年１１月１７日～１２月２５日に全国の１８歳以上の３０００人を対象に郵送で行った。有効回収率は５３．４％。新型コロナウイルス対策で調査方法を個別面接から郵送に変えたため、「前回調査との単純比較はできない」（担当者）としている。（2023/02/14-20:35）

A government survey Tuesday showed that 21.3 pct of respondents in Japan recognize discrimination or prejudice against the Ainu indigenous people, up 3.4 percentage points from the previous 2016 survey.
   By contrast, the share of respondents who see no discrimination or prejudice fell 22.0 points to 28.7 pct, according to the survey by the Cabinet Office.
   When those seeing discrimination or prejudice were asked about underlying reasons, with multiple answers allowed, 78.9 pct cited insufficient understanding of Ainu history, 75.4 pct insufficient understanding of Ainu culture, and 61.3 pct insufficient administrative and educational efforts to deepen understanding of the Ainu people.
   Asked about effective ways to deepen public understanding of the Ainu people, 74.3 pct chose the use of television programs and newspapers to provide information about the Ainu.
   The survey was conducted via mail questionnaire between Nov. 17 and Dec. 25 last year, covering 3,000 people aged 18 or over across the country. Valid responses came from 53.4 pct.
