三菱重工、長崎の工場売却検討　造船大手と協議、３月結論

　三菱重工業は１８日、長崎造船所のうち主力の香焼工場（長崎市）について、造船国内３位の大島造船所（長崎県西海市）と売却を含めた活用策を検討することで合意したと発表した。来年３月末をめどに結論を出す。中国や韓国メーカーとのコスト競争で収益環境が厳しくなる中、事業体制の抜本的な見直しが必要と判断した。
　三菱重工創業の地である長崎市には、１８５７年に設立された日本初の艦船修理工場に由来する長崎造船所の本工場と、本工場の造船事業を拡大するため１９７２年に設立された香焼工場がある。香焼工場は三菱重工が誇る国内最大級の造船所で、売却の検討は日本造船業の苦境を象徴する。（2019/12/18-17:56）

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. said Wednesday that it has agreed with Oshima Shipbuilding Co. to jointly study ways to effectively use a core shipbuilding plant owned by the former, including its possible sale to the industry peer.
The two firms aim to reach a conclusion on the fate of the Koyagi plant, in the city of Nagasaki, southwestern Japan, by the end of March 2020. Oshima is the third-biggest shipbuilder in Japan.
