第２次岸田内閣、今夜発足　特別国会召集、首相が会見へ

　衆院選を受けた第２０６特別国会が１０日召集された。午後の衆参両院本会議で岸田文雄首相（自民党総裁）が第１０１代首相に選出され、夜に第２次岸田内閣が発足する。首相は首相官邸で記者会見を行い、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大を受けた経済対策やコロナ「第６波」への対応など政権の基本方針を説明する。
　本会議に先立ち、首相は自民党本部で開いた両院議員総会で、政策課題としてコロナ対応や経済対策、外交安全保障を挙げ、「スピード感を大事にして取り組む」と強調。「国民の声に耳を傾け、丁寧で寛容な政治を進める。これ以外に国民の信頼を回復する道はない」と語った。
　岸田内閣は同日午前の閣議で総辞職を決定。憲法７０条は、衆院選後の初めての国会召集時に「内閣は総辞職をしなければならない」と定めている。自民、公明両党が衆参両院で多数を占めるため、岸田氏が改めて首相指名選挙で首相に選ばれる。（2021/11/10-13:01）

Japan on Wednesday convened a special session of the Diet, the country's parliament, following the Oct. 31 generation election, with the cabinet of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida resigning en masse before the relaunching of his administration.
   Following his ruling Liberal Democratic Party's victory in the election of the House of Representatives, the all-important lower chamber of the Diet, Kishida is almost certain to be named the country's 101st prime minister at plenary meetings of both chambers of the Diet in the afternoon.
   The LDP and its coalition partner, Komeito, hold a combined majority at both chambers of the Diet.
   Article 70 of the Constitution stipulates that the cabinet must resign en masse when the first Diet session is convened following a general election.
   Kishida will form his second cabinet following an Imperial investiture ceremony for him and an attestation ceremony for his cabinet ministers at the Imperial Palace later on Wednesday.
