ＡＧＣ韓国撤退報道を否定＝現地法人「事実と異なる」

　【ソウル時事】ＡＧＣ（旧旭硝子）の韓国現地法人は１１日、ＡＧＣが韓国から撤退するとした同国紙・毎日経済の報道について「事実と異なる」と否定した。既に生産を停止したプラズマディスプレー事業に関わる工場を閉鎖するものの、液晶ディスプレー用のガラス基板生産は続けると説明した。
　毎日経済はＡＧＣが日韓対立などの影響で来年１月までに工場を閉鎖し、韓国から撤退すると伝えたが、現地法人担当者は「２０１４年に生産ラインを閉じた工場を閉鎖するだけだ。閉鎖は（最近の日韓対立とは）全く関係ない」と語った。
　１１日付の毎日経済は、ＡＧＣの韓国法人が、慶尚北道亀尾市にある工場や建物を閉鎖すると道当局に伝えたなどとして、韓国撤退を報じていた。（2019/09/11-17:11）

Major Japanese glass maker AGC Inc. will close its South Korean plant by January 2020 to pull out of the country, South Korea's Maeil Business Newspaper reported Wednesday.
The decision reflects sluggish operations related to liquid crystal display panels and the recent deterioration of Japan-South Korea ties, as well as labor issues, according to the paper.
