薬価下げ、３６００億円超　半数以上の品目対象―政府

　政府は１５日、薬の公定価格である「薬価」を引き下げ、３６００億～４７００億円の医療費を抑制する方向で調整に入った。医薬品の半数以上が引き下げの対象となる見込み。患者負担は軽減される一方、医療機関や製薬業界の経営にはマイナスとなる。政府は近く改定幅を決め、２０２１年４月から実施する。
　薬価は従来、診療報酬と合わせ原則２年に１度改定されてきた。ただ、高齢化の影響や高額な医薬品の登場などで薬剤費は増加傾向にある。このため政府は、実勢価格を迅速に反映して医療費の適正化や国民負担の軽減につなげようと、２１年度から毎年見直すことにした。菅義偉首相が官房長官時代に主導した経緯がある。
　厚生労働省が今月２日に公表した調査結果によると、今年９月時点の医薬品の実勢価格は薬価を約８．０％下回っており、政府は少なくともこれを超える差が出ている医薬品は改定する方向。全品目の約半数に当たる８７００品目が対象となり、医療費を３６００億円圧縮できる。一方、１万７６００品目全てを改定した場合は４７００億円削減できる見込みで、政府は詰めの調整を急ぐ。（2020/12/15-20:31）

The government is planning to curb medical costs in Japan by some 360 billion to 470 billion yen by lowering state-set prescription drug prices, informed sources said Tuesday.
   The price cut is expected to cover more than half of prescription drugs.
   While the move will reduce medical bills paid by patients, it is likely to have negative effects on the finances of medical institutions and drugmakers.
   After deciding the size of the price cut, the government plans to start lowering the drug prices in April 2021, according to the sources.
   Until now, the government revised official drug prices every two years in principle, together with medical fees. Recently, medical costs have been rising due to the aging population and the launch of expensive drugs.
