白石被告に死刑判決　「史上まれに見る悪質さ」―座間９遺体・東京地裁支部

　神奈川県座間市のアパートで、１０～２０代の男女９人の遺体が見つかった事件で、強盗・強制性交殺人罪などに問われた白石隆浩被告（３０）の裁判員裁判の判決が１５日、東京地裁立川支部であり、矢野直邦裁判長は「犯罪史上、まれに見る悪質な犯行」と述べ、求刑通り死刑を言い渡した。
　裁判では、殺害行為に被害者の承諾があったかが最大の争点だった。矢野裁判長は、承諾を否定し続けた白石被告の公判中の供述について、「基本的に信用できる」と判断。殺害前、女性８人は被告に失神させられた後に乱暴され、男性も前触れもなく襲われるなど、想定しない被害に遭ったことも考慮し、９人がいずれも「承諾していなかった」と結論付けた。
　もう一つの争点となった被告の刑事責任能力についても、責任能力があるとした起訴前の精神鑑定の信用性を認め、「心神喪失や心神耗弱の状態にはなかった」とした。
　その上で、「９人が殺害された結果は極めて重大だ」と指摘。自殺願望を示した被害者に酒や薬を勧めて襲う手口は「巧妙、卑劣」で、動機も金銭欲や性欲などを満たすためだったとし、「酌量の余地は全くない。人命軽視の態度は甚だしい」と非難した。
　被告はこれまでの公判で「（判決が出れば）控訴せず、罪を認めて罰を受けるつもりだ」と述べていたが、弁護人は閉廷後、控訴を検討する考えを示した。
　判決によると、被告は２０１７年８～１０月、ツイッターなどで被害者と接触し、自宅に招いてロープで首をつって殺害。全員から現金を奪い、遺体を解体、遺棄した。（2020/12/15-18:40）

A 30-year-old man was sentenced to death on Tuesday over a shocking case in which the dismembered bodies of nine young people were found at an apartment in Zama, Kanagawa Prefecture, eastern Japan, in 2017.
   The sentence of capital punishment, in line with the prosecution's demand, was handed down by Tokyo District Court's Tachikawa branch.
   Takahiro Shiraishi, the accused, was charged with robbery, rape and murder over the case. The nine victims were aged between 15 and 26 at the time of the killings.
   According to the indictment and other sources, between August and October 2017, Shiraishi approached women who had suggested suicidal wishes on Twitter.
   He is suspected of having strangled eight women at his apartment using ropes after sexually assaulting them. He also murdered a male acquaintance of one of the women, the indictment said.
