トランプ米大統領が祝意＝即位の礼

　【ワシントン時事】トランプ米大統領は２２日、天皇陛下が即位を宣言されたことについて「米国民を代表して心からのお祝いを申し上げる」と祝意を伝える声明を発表した。
　声明は「美しい調和を意味する令和の時代は、日米の友情の絆がかつてないほど強いこの時に到来した」とし、「われわれの地球規模での協力は、平和と繁栄の揺るぎない柱だ。この喜びに満ちた機会に、日本の人々に最高の敬意を払いたい」と結んだ。（2019/10/22-23:26）

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday released a statement congratulating Japanese Emperor Naruhito, for whom a "Sokuirei-Seiden-no-Gi" enthronement proclamation ceremony was held that day in Tokyo.
   "The advent of the Imperial era known as 'Reiwa,' meaning 'beautiful harmony,' comes at a time in which the bonds of friendship between the American and Japanese people have never been stronger," the statement read. "Our global partnership is an unshakeable pillar of peace and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and the world."
   "We wish the people of Japan our fondest regards and utmost respect on this auspicious and joyous occasion," Trump added.
   The new Japanese era of Reiwa started in May in line with the new Emperor's accession to the throne.
   Japan's Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi thanked U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo over the phone for the president's statement. Elsewhere in the talks, the two confirmed their countries' close cooperation over ways to deal with Middle East tensions partly arising from strained U.S.-Iran ties, as well as the issue of North Korea's repeated short-range ballistic missile launches.
