「非常に唐突」「覆すの難しい」＝マラソン札幌変更案に組織委困惑－東京五輪

　２０２０年東京五輪のマラソン、競歩の会場を札幌に移す案を国際オリンピック委員会（ＩＯＣ）が発表したことを受け、大会組織委員会の関係者は１７日、一様に困惑した表情を浮かべた。
　武藤敏郎事務総長は会場変更案を聞かされたのが「ごく最近」とし、「非常に唐突だと思う」と語気を強めた。マラソンの発着点となる新国立競技場のチケットは一部が既に販売済みで、「向こう（札幌）に移ったらどういう問題があるのか。これからやらなくてはいけない」と話した。
　小池百合子東京都知事が会場変更案に関して十分な説明を求めていることについて、武藤事務総長は「もっともだ。ＩＯＣが言っていることで、われわれは説明する立場ではない」と述べた。
　室伏広治スポーツディレクターは「暑さを深刻に考えているというメッセージ。東京で時間をずらしてやる方法や他会場も含めて（ＩＯＣに）突きつけられた」と話した。札幌開催になれば「朝は涼しいから大丈夫だろう」との見解を示した上で、運営面の課題について「選手も含めた輸送、宿泊をクリアしなくてはいけない」と語った。
　この変更案は３０日から東京都内で開催されるＩＯＣの調整委員会で協議される。ある組織委幹部は「突風のように（ＩＯＣから）吹いてきた」と驚きの提案だったことを明かし、今後の見通しについて「バッハ会長があれだけ言っている。（札幌への会場変更を）覆すのは難しいだろう」と語った。（2019/10/17-12:33）

Officials of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics organizing committee on Thursday expressed bewilderment over a proposal by the International Olympic Committee to move the marathon and race walking events of the 2020 Games to Sapporo in the northernmost Japan prefecture of Hokkaido, due to concerns about heat around Tokyo.
   "I think the proposal was very abrupt," said Toshiro Muto, director-general of the organizing committee. He said he learned of the proposal quite recently.
   As part of the tickets for watching the marathon events at the New National Stadium in central Tokyo, where the races are currently slated to start and end, have already been sold, Muto said the committee must work out ways to resolve problems that may arise as a result of the venue change, if it goes ahead.
   "Municipalities hosting the courses have been charged up and making preparations," Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike told reporters. She then indicated a plan to call on the IOC to give sufficient explanations about its venue change proposal, which was announced on Wednesday and is set to be discussed at an IOC meeting in Tokyo between Oct. 30 and Nov. 1.
   "We hope to talk (with the IOC) about what would be the best form" of holding the events, Koike added.
