「どうぶつの森」購入不能に 政治的理由か―中国
【香港時事】香港メディアは１０日、任天堂の人気ゲームソフト「あつまれ どうぶつの森」が中国本土の通販サイトから消えたと報じた。原因は不明だが、ユーザーの間では「政治的理由だ」との声も上がっている。
どうぶつの森は、プレーヤーがゲーム内で住む島を自由にデザインして遊ぶシミュレーションゲーム。プレーヤー同士の交流も可能だ。
インターネット上では最近、ゲーム内のものとして、「武漢肺炎」の文字の背後に遺影に加工された習近平国家主席の写真を配した画像が出回っていた。新型コロナウイルスへの対応をめぐり中国政府を批判したものとみられ、当局が問題視した可能性がある。
ゲームはまた、ウイルス流行で反政府デモを行えない香港の若者の間で急速に広がり、政治的主張を発信するツールとしても使われている。民主活動家の黄之鋒氏も利用を公言しており、「ゲーム内での抗議活動」を呼び掛けていた。（2020/04/10-19:15）
Nintendo's "Atsumare Dobutsu no Mori" Game Vanishes from China Online Outlets
The popular "Atsumare Dobutsu no Mori" game of Japan's Nintendo Co. has disappeared from online shopping websites in mainland China, the Hong Kong media reported Friday.
While it is unclear why the game, sold overseas as "Animal Crossing," is no longer available for purchase online in China, some people have pointed to political reasons.
The game allows players to post their messages including political ones on virtual islands they design and share them with other players across the globe.
A recently buzzing screenshot of the game shows a funeral portrait of Chinese President Xi Jinping behind a banner reading "Wuhan pneumonia."
The Chinese authorities could have found it problematic and banned sales of the game online.
