　ジョー・バイデン大統領は先週、大統領選の投票は自由かつ公正に行われると考えているが、「平和裏に実施されるかは分からない」と発言した。
　トランプ氏は、保守系テレビ局ＦＯＸニュースの番組で、投票日当日に混乱が起きると思うかとの質問に対し、「より大きな問題は、外からやって来て米国を破壊する人々ではなく、国内に潜む敵だ」と指摘。これまで、米国に押し寄せている移民を糾弾してきたが、敵は国内にいるとの見方を示した。
　さらに、「米国民には非常に悪い人間もいるし、病んでいる人間もいる。極左の異常者もいる。そういった連中にはさっさと対処するべきだと思う。必要なら州兵、いざとなれば軍によって」と主張。米国民の方が「中国やロシアなどよりも危険だ」とも述べた。
　民主党候補、カマラ・ハリス副大統領のイアン・サムズ報道官はＸ（旧ツイッター）で、「この１０年で皆、トランプ氏にまひしているかもしれないが、衝撃的だ」とし、「トランプ氏は、同胞である米国民の方が他国の敵対勢力より危険な『敵』だとの考えを示し、軍事力を行使すると主張している」と批判。
