３４年ぶり円安、一時１５３円台　鈴木財務相「あらゆる選択肢」で対応

　円相場が１１日早朝の外国為替市場で一時１ドル＝１５３円台に下落した。１９９０年６月以来、約３４年ぶりの円安水準。米物価指標の高い伸びを受け、米連邦準備制度理事会（ＦＲＢ）による早期利下げ観測が大きく後退。日米金利差が大きい状態が続くとの見方が強まり、円売り・ドル買いが進んだ。午前１１時現在は１５２円８１～８１銭と、前日午後５時と比べ９７銭の円安・ドル高。
　鈴木俊一財務相は１１日午前、「行き過ぎた動きには、あらゆるオプション（選択肢）を排除することなく、適切に対応していきたい」と財務省内で記者団に語った。同省の神田真人財務官も「足元の動きは急だ」と円安の加速を強くけん制する発言を行った。政府・日銀が為替介入で円安に対抗するかが焦点となる。
　市場では「岸田文雄首相が首脳会談のため訪米中で、為替操作国と受け止められる介入は実施しづらい」（外為ブローカー）との見方が出ている。
　日本時間１０日夜に公表された３月の米消費者物価指数（ＣＰＩ）は前年同月比３．５％上昇し、市場予想（３．４％）を上回った。根強いインフレ圧力を受け、ＦＲＢによる６月からの利下げ開始が先送りされるとの見方が台頭。１１日午前５時４０分すぎには一時１５３円２０銭台まで下落した。
　日銀は３月の金融政策決定会合でマイナス金利政策を解除したが、今後の政策運営については「当面緩和的な金融環境が継続する」（植田和男総裁）と強調している。低金利政策を維持する姿勢も円安の背景にある。（2024/04/11-11:16）

Japan Vows to Respond Appropriately to Weak Yen

Japanese authorities will respond appropriately to a weaker yen without excluding all possible measures, Masato Kanda, vice finance minister for international affairs, said Thursday.
Kanda's comments came after the dollar topped 153 yen for the first time in nearly 34 years in currency trading earlier on Thursday on strong-than-expected U.S. inflation readings for March, a gain that fueled speculation that Japanese authorities will intervene to support the yen.
Japanese authorities sold dollars and bought yen after the dollar rose close to 152 yen in October 2022. "It's not surprising that foreign exchange intervention will take place at any time" now that the dollar topped 153 yen, an official at a Japanese bank said.
