辺野古代執行へ国が提訴　設計変更、知事の承認見送りで

　米軍普天間飛行場（沖縄県宜野湾市）の名護市辺野古への移設工事を巡り、斉藤鉄夫国土交通相は５日、防衛省の設計変更申請を知事に代わって承認する「代執行」のための訴訟を福岡高裁那覇支部に起こした。辺野古移設に関する国と県の対立は、再び法廷に持ち込まれた。地方自治法に基づき国が地方自治体の事務を代執行すれば初のケースとなる。
　沖縄県の玉城デニー知事が、承認を求める国の指示に期限内に応じなかったことを受けた措置。玉城知事は５日午後、県議会内で記者団に対応を問われ「訴状の内容をよく確認した上で、対応を検討していきたい」と述べるにとどめた。
　斉藤国交相は同日夕、首相官邸で記者団に「知事が期限までに承認を行わなかったことは遺憾だ」と語った。（2023/10/05-18:08）

Japanese land minister Tetsuo Saito filed a lawsuit Thursday to approve a design change related to a U.S. base relocation plan in Okinawa Prefecture on behalf of Denny Tamaki, governor of the southern prefecture.
   The minister filed the suit with Fukuoka High Court's branch in Naha, Okinawa, after Tamaki refused to follow the central government's order for him to approve the design change related to the plan to build a replacement facility in the Henoko coastal district in Nago to relocate the U.S. Marine Corps' Futenma air base in Ginowan.
   The high court is expected to hold the first hearing of the case later this month.
   If the high court rules in favor of the central government and the Okinawa prefectural government refuses the ruling, the central government will approve the design change on behalf of Okinawa under the local autonomy law.
   The prefectural government can appeal the ruling to the Supreme Court, but the construction work cannot be stopped until the top court hands down a ruling.
