森林ファンドで脱炭素化貢献　１０社出資、総額６００億円―住友林業

　住友林業は１０日、森林運営に投資して脱炭素社会実現に貢献する「森林ファンド」を組成し、運用を始めたと発表した。ＥＮＥＯＳや大阪ガスなど日本企業計１０社が総額６００億円を出資。植林などで森林の二酸化炭素（ＣＯ２）吸収力を高め、ＣＯ２排出量を相殺できるカーボンクレジットを年平均約１００万トン分創出することを目指す。
　光吉敏郎社長は記者会見で「木材の取引による経済的価値だけでなく、森林の保全・拡大で地球環境に貢献し、出資者のカーボンオフセット（相殺）にも貢献できる」と強調した。ファンドの運用期間は１５年で、クレジットやその売却益は出資割合に応じ分配する。（2023/07/10-17:24）

Sumitomo Forestry Creates Decarbonization Fund

Sumitomo Forestry Co. said Monday that it has established a forestry fund with nine other Japanese companies to contribute to the realization of a decarbonized society through investment in forest management.
The fund has a total of 60 billion yen from the 10 companies, including Sumitomo Forestry, oil refiner Eneos Corp. and Osaka Gas Co.
