緩和路線「継続」見方広がる　植田氏起用、事前予想なく―政府・与党

　岸田文雄首相が日銀総裁に起用する方針を固めた元日銀審議委員の植田和男氏について、事前に予想する向きは政府・与党内にほぼなく、「よく知らない」「ノーマークだ」といった声が相次いだ。一方、植田氏は１９９０年代後半から審議委員として日銀の金融政策立案の中心にいた人物。黒田東彦総裁の下で進んだ大規模な金融緩和の「急激な転換は図らない」との見方が広がっている。
　関係者によると、首相は植田氏について「黒田氏の路線を継承する人物だ」と語っているという。安倍政権が進めた経済政策「アベノミクス」を急激に修正すれば、自民党保守派を刺激しかねないだけに、「路線継続」をアピールする狙いがあるとみられる。
　自民党幹部は１０日、植田氏が学者出身であることに触れ、「黒田氏は政治と一体となってやってきた。冷却期間を置く意味でいいのではないか」と歓迎した。
　また、経済官庁関係者は「安倍派も野党も引きずり降ろせないようなふわっとした人だ。存在感はないが、難しい局面では適任かもしれない」と指摘。安倍派幹部も「政策は維持されるのではないか」と評価した。
　副総裁の後任に、安倍政権の幹部だった氷見野良三前金融庁長官、「黒田日銀」を支えた内田真一日銀理事を充てる方向となったことも「路線が大きく変わらないことを示す布陣」（安倍派若手）と評価する声が上がった。
　ただ、植田氏を巡っては「（別の候補者に）断られまくった末の人選」（政権幹部）との見方もある。７１歳という年齢についても、自民党若手は「国際的に渡り合えるのか」と不安を口にした。（2023/02/11-07:09）

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida's plan, reported on Friday, to nominate former Bank of Japan Policy Board member Kazuo Ueda as the next BOJ governor appeared to come as a surprise to many, even in the government and the ruling parties.
   Many now expect, however, that a BOJ led by Ueda would likely continue the massive monetary easing policy initiated by incumbent Governor Haruhiko Kuroda.
   According to an informed source, Kishida has described Ueda as a "candidate who would follow Kuroda's path."
   Kishida is apparently cautious about drastically revising the Abenomics economic policy mix led by the late Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, which could anger conservative members of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party.
   "Mr. Kuroda has been working in tandem with politics," said a senior LDP official. With Ueda's background in academia, his potential tenure as BOJ governor "would be good as a cooling down period," the official said.
