竹島「関心ない」依然３割超　内閣府調査、認知機会不足が理由

　内閣府は１０日、島根県・竹島に関する世論調査結果を発表した。竹島に「関心がない」「どちらかといえば関心がない」と回答したのは、合わせて３２．０％。２０１９年の前回調査比２．０ポイント減だったものの、依然として３割を超えた。
　関心がない理由を複数回答で尋ねると、「知る機会や考える機会がなかった」が５２．５％（同２１．５ポイント増）で最多。「自分の生活にあまり影響がない」４２．９％（同１６．６ポイント減）、「紛争や武力衝突など負のイメージを連想する」２１．３％（同５．３ポイント増）が続いた。
　「関心がある」「どちらかといえば関心がある」は合計で６３．６％（同０．１ポイント減）で横ばいだった。
　竹島を巡る問題は、日韓関係悪化の一因。日本は「固有の領土」と主張しているが、韓国も領有権を訴えて実効支配を続ける。国民の関心を高めるため、日本政府は「引き続き啓発活動が重要」（内閣官房領土・主権対策企画調整室）としている。
　調査は１３年から開始し、今回で５回目。昨年１１月１０日～１２月１８日に全国の１８歳以上の３０００人を対象に実施。有効回収率は５８．８％。新型コロナウイルス対策で調査方法を個別面接から郵送に変えたため、前回調査との単純比較はできない。（2023/02/10-21:10）

Over 30 pct of people in Japan have no interest in Takeshima, islands in the Sea of Japan that are controlled by South Korea and claimed by Japan, a Cabinet Office survey released Friday showed.
   The survey found 32.0 pct of respondents were not interested in the islands in Shimane Prefecture, down slightly 2.0 percentage points from the previous 2019 survey.
   On the reasons for their lack of interest in Takeshima, with multiple answers allowed, 52.5 pct said that they never had the opportunity to learn or think about the islands, called Dokdo in South Korea.
   The survey showed 42.9 pct said that they felt the islands did not have a major impact on their lives, while 21.3 pct said that they associate Takeshima with negative things, such as conflicts and military clashes.
   It found 63.6 pct of respondents were interested in the islands.
