ＩＯＣ、医療スタッフ提供へ　選手らの接種８割超にも―東京五輪

　国際オリンピック委員会（ＩＯＣ）のバッハ会長は１９日、東京五輪での新型コロナウイルス対策として、大会に参加する国内オリンピック委員会（ＮＯＣ）を通じて、選手村や競技会場で活動する追加の医療スタッフを提供すると表明した。
　準備状況を確認するＩＯＣ調整委員会と大会組織委の最終合同会議がオンラインで開かれ、その冒頭で語った。提供する医療スタッフの人数や規模には触れなかった。組織委の橋本聖子会長は「具体的にどのように支援を頂けるか。話をうかがいたい」と述べた。
　組織委は大会時に必要な医療人員が当初計画の約１万人から減るとの認識を示す一方で、シミュレーションは提示していない。感染再拡大で国内の医療体制は逼迫（ひっぱく）しており、医療人員の確保が難しいとの見方が広がっている。
　また、バッハ会長は各国選手団のワクチン接種について、選手村に滞在見込みの選手や関係者らのうち７５％がワクチンを既に接種したか確保し、大会時には接種者が８０％を超えるとの認識を示した。　
　会議に出席した丸川珠代五輪担当相は、メディアを含む大会関係者についても「できるだけ多くのワクチン接種が進むことを期待する」と述べた。ＩＯＣのコーツ調整委員長も同意した。（2021/05/19-17:41）

International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach on Wednesday announced a plan to send additional medical staff to this summer's Tokyo Games amid the coronavirus pandemic, although he gave no specific number.
   Bach was speaking at the final joint meeting, held online, of the IOC Coordination Commission and the Tokyo organizing committee to check preparations for the Tokyo Games.
   The additional medical staff will be dispatched through national Olympic committees, according to the IOC chief.
   The organizing committee said the number of medical personnel necessary for the Tokyo Games will be smaller than the initially expected 10,000. But no new estimate was released.
   There are concerns about a possible shortage of medical staff at the Tokyo Games as medical services in Japan are under strain due to the spread of the coronavirus.
