英から新規入国拒否　短期出張の待機免除も停止―政府

　政府は２３日、新型コロナウイルス変異種が英国などで見つかったことを受け、英国からの新規入国を停止するなどの水際対策を発表した。英国に滞在歴のある外国人の新規入国を拒否し、日本人らの短期出張者に認めている帰国後１４日間の待機免除措置を停止する。２４日から「当分の間」実施する。加藤勝信官房長官が２３日の記者会見で明らかにした。
　加藤氏は会見で、検疫体制強化の方針を示すとともに英国への短期渡航の自粛を改めて要請。「国民に安心、安全な年末を過ごしていただくことを最優先に機動的に水際対策を講じていきたい」と強調した。英国以外の水際対策強化に関しては「必要があれば迅速に対応していきたい」と述べた。
　政府は英国に限らず人的往来再開の一環として、防疫措置を確保できる受け入れ企業があることを条件に外国人の新規入国を認めてきた。海外へ短期出張した日本人らには、帰国後１４日間は公共交通機関を使用しないことなどを条件に帰国後の待機を免除していた。（2020/12/23-13:16）

The Japanese government Wednesday announced a temporary ban on all arrivals from Britain, where a variant of the novel coronavirus is spreading.
   The government will also suspend a measure allowing short-term business travelers returning to Japan from Britain to be exempt from 14-day quarantine. Both measures will take effect Thursday.
   The government hopes to stop the variant, found also in some other countries, from entering Japan by strengthening its entry restrictions.
   The quarantine exemption for business travelers returning to Japan after staying in Britain for up to seven days is part of the measures Japan has taken to resume international travel. Eligible for the exemption are those who submit activity plans and promise not to use public transportation for 14 days from their arrivals.
