日本製鉄、リオ・ティントとＣＯ２排出削減で覚書

　日本製鉄と英豪系資源大手リオ・ティントは１６日、炭素排出を低減した鉄鉱石の採掘や製鉄技術の開発などを共同で行うための覚書を締結したと発表した。日鉄の製鉄技術と、リオ・ティントの鉄鉱石処理技術を統合し、革新的な製造プロセスの確立を目指す。（2020/12/16-11:00）

Nippon Steel Corp. and major British-Australian resource company Rio Tinto said Wednesday they have signed a memorandum of understanding on the joint development of low-carbon technologies to mine iron ore and produce steel.
The two companies aim to establish an innovative manufacturing process by integrating Nippon Steel's steelmaking technology and Rio Tinto's iron ore processing technology.
