ワクチン供給、３社目合意　新型コロナ２５００万人分―厚労省

　厚生労働省は２９日、米バイオ医薬品企業モデルナとの間で、同社が新型コロナウイルスのワクチン開発に成功した場合、２０２１年に計５０００万回分（２５００万人分）の供給を受ける契約を締結したと発表した。国内での販売・流通を担う武田薬品工業とも契約を交わした。
　厚労省によると、契約では２１年上半期に４０００万回分（２０００万人分）、７～９月に１０００万回（５００万人分）が供給される。契約額は明らかにしていない。
　政府は２１年前半までに全国民分のワクチンを確保することを目指し、各国の企業と交渉を重ねている。既に米製薬大手ファイザーと英製薬大手アストラゼネカの２社と基本合意し計１億２０００万人分以上を確保した。ただ、アストラゼネカが臨床試験（治験）参加者に深刻な神経症状が出たとして治験を一時中断したこともあり、厚労省は不測の事態に備え、確保量の積み増しを進めている。
　田村憲久厚労相は２９日、記者団に「国民が必要な分だけ供給を受けられるよう交渉し、円滑な接種体制が実現できるよう努めたい」と話した。（2020/10/29-17:52）

Japan's health ministry said Thursday that it has concluded an agreement with Moderna Inc. for the supply of a vaccine against the novel coronavirus from the U.S. biopharmaceutical firm if it succeeds in developing the vaccine.
   Moderna is the third company to sign a coronavirus vaccine supply contract with the Japanese government.
   Under the agreement, Japan will receive 50 million doses of the vaccine, enough for 25 million people, from Moderna in 2021--40 million doses in January-June and the rest in July-September. The value of the deal was not disclosed.
   The ministry also concluded a contract with Japan's Takeda Pharmaceutical Co. for the distribution and sales of the vaccine in the country.
   The government has been holding negotiations with drugmakers in various countries in order to secure vaccines for all citizens in Japan by the end of June 2021.
