原発処理水、海洋放出へ　政府、福島第１の廃炉優先―風評対策、検討加速

　政府が東京電力福島第１原発から出る放射性物質トリチウムを含んだ処理水について、薄めて海に放出する方針を固めたことが１６日、分かった。今月中にも決定し、廃炉作業を加速するため２０２２年秋ごろからの放出を目指す。政府は安全性に問題はないと説明するが、風評被害を懸念する漁業者らは強く反対しており、対策の検討を急ぐ。
　福島第１原発では、原子炉建屋に地下水や雨水が流れ込み、高濃度の放射性物質に汚染された水が大量に発生。東電はトリチウム以外の大半の放射性物質を取り除いて処理水としてタンクに入れて保管している。東電によると、タンクは２２年秋ごろに満杯になり、このまま増え続ければ廃炉作業に支障が出かねない。
　処分方法について、政府は有識者会議の報告書などを受け、「海洋放出」を軸に検討してきた。海洋放出には設備などの準備に２年程度かかるとされ、決断のために残された時間は限られる。梶山弘志経済産業相は１６日の記者会見で「廃炉を遅延させないため早期に決定する必要がある」と強調。政府は今月下旬に「廃炉・汚染水対策関係閣僚等会議」（議長・加藤勝信官房長官）を開き、方針を決定する方向で調整している。
　海洋放出する場合、タンク内の処理水について再度放射性物質を除去し、トリチウム以外の放射性物質の濃度を海に流してもよい数値まで下げる。その上でトリチウムの濃度も下げるため海水で薄め、数十年かけて少しずつ放出する計画だ。（2020/10/16-17:59）

The Japanese government will decide as early as this month to release treated radioactive water at Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings Inc.'s tsunami-stricken Fukushima No. 1 nuclear power plant into the ocean, it was learned Friday.
   The decision will be made at a meeting of a related ministerial council.
   How to dispose of treated radioactive water at the crippled nuclear plant in Fukushima Prefecture, northeastern Japan, has been high on the agenda for the Japanese government, as the decommissioning work at the plant may be hampered if TEPCO continues to store the treated water in tanks within the plant premises.
   The government hopes to start releasing the water into the sea around autumn 2022, while fishermen are strongly opposed to the release due to concerns that it will cause reputation damage for local fishery products.
