８月給与総額は１．３％減　残業少なく５カ月連続低下―勤労統計調査

　厚生労働省が９日発表した８月の毎月勤労統計調査（速報値）によると、名目賃金を示す現金給与総額は、前年同月比１．３％減の２７万３２６３円と５カ月連続で低下した。新型コロナウイルスの影響から企業活動が停滞。労働者の残業時間が少なく、所定外給与が大幅に落ち込んだ。
　現金給与総額のうち、基本給などの所定内給与が０．１％減の２４万４５４７円、残業代などの所定外給与は１４．０％減の１万６６１７円だった。ただ、所定外給与は５月（２６．３％減）を底に戻りつつあり、８月は４月（１２．８％減）に近い水準だった。（2020/10/09-08:35）

Wages in Japan Down for 5th Straight Month

Nominal wages in Japan in August fell 1.3 pct from a year before to 273,263 yen on average, down for the fifth straight month, the labor ministry said Friday.
   Nonregular pay declined sharply as companies reduced overtime amid the coronavirus crisis.
   Of the total wages, regular pay edged down 0.1 pct to 244,547 yen, and nonregular pay, including overtime, declined 14.0 pct to 16,617 yen, the ministry said in a preliminary report.
   The pace of decline in nonregular pay slowed after a 26.3 pct fall in May, approaching the April level of 12.8 pct.
   Monthly work hours per person dropped 5.0 pct to 129 hours, against a 2.7 pct fall in July, apparently because many people took longer summer breaks.
