８月訪日客、９９％減の８７００人　コロナ逆風、復調見通せず

　日本政府観光局が１８日発表した８月の訪日外国人数（推計値）は前年同月比９９．７％減の８７００人だった。新型コロナウイルス対策として各国が実施している出入国制限の影響を受け、４月以降の訪日客は毎月１万人を割り込んだ状態が続く。
　８月の訪日客は７月（３８００人）と比べると改善した。４～７月はいずれも前年を９９．９％下回って推移していた。ただ、現在も入国者の多くは日本の在留資格を持つ外国人とみられる。訪日客の復調は見通せず、観光庁の蒲生篤実長官は１８日の記者会見で「観光目的での訪日再開はもう少し先かと思われる」と述べた。（2020/09/18-20:02）

Visitors to Japan Plunge 99 Pct in Aug.

The estimated number of visitors to Japan from overseas in August dived 99.7 pct from a year before to 8,700, the Japan National Tourism Organization said Friday.
   The inbound visitor number has been below 10,000 since April due to entry restrictions introduced amid the coronavirus pandemic.
   The monthly figure plunged 99.9 pct for the fourth straight month through July. The figure in August improved from 3,800 in July.
   Most visitors to Japan are believed to be foreigners with resident status in the country. A full recovery in the number of visitors to Japan is unlikely anytime soon.
