日英貿易交渉が実質合意　企業活動の混乱回避へ―来年１月発効目指す

　【ロンドン時事】日英両政府は７日、新たな「日英経済連携協定（ＥＰＡ）」の交渉で実質的に合意した。訪英中の茂木敏充外相とトラス英国際貿易相が２日間にわたり協議。英国の欧州連合（ＥＵ）離脱に伴い日英間の関税優遇措置が年末に失効する懸念があったが、新協定に切れ目なく引き継がれることで企業活動の混乱を回避できる見通しとなった。
　２日間の閣僚協議を終え、記者会見した茂木氏は新協定について「（交渉）項目の大半で実質合意し、主要な論点について認識の一致に至った」と述べた。８月末までに大筋合意し、来年１月１日の発効を目指す。茂木氏は実質合意内容の具体的な説明を避けた。
　初日の６日は約８時間にわたり断続的に行い、茂木氏は「議論に進展があった」と語っていた。閣僚間では、関税率など市場アクセスについて議論したという。（2020/08/07-23:53）

The Japanese and British governments effectively agreed on a new trade deal on Friday.
   The accord was reached through two-day talks from Thursday between visiting Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi and British International Trade Secretary Elizabeth Truss.
   Motegi said that the two countries aim to reach a broad agreement by the end of this month and put their trade deal into force on Jan. 1, 2021.
   Preferential tariff measures applied for trade between Japan and Britain under the Japan-European Union economic partnership agreement are seen expiring at the end of this year following Britain's exit from the EU. But confusion in corporate activities will likely be avoided if the bilateral pact goes into effect at the beginning of next year.
