ラオックス、九州・沖縄から撤退　新型コロナで国内１２店に半減

　家電量販店のラオックスは２８日、国内全２４店舗の半数に当たる１２店舗を閉鎖すると発表した。九州・沖縄エリアからは撤退する。新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で、訪日外国人旅行者が激減しており、収支改善へ大規模な閉店に踏み切る。
　閉鎖するのは、北海道３店、東京１店、近畿１店、九州６店、沖縄１店。閉店時期などについては詳細が確定次第、公表する。同社は閉店の理由について「主要顧客である中国からの訪日旅行客が入国できない状況に加え、中国以外の国からの旅行客の回復もめどが立っていない」と説明している。（2020/07/28-22:10）

Japanese electronics retailer Laox Co. has announced plans to shut down 12 domestic outlets, or half of its stores in Japan, and withdraw from the Kyushu southwestern region and the southernmost prefecture of Okinawa.
The steps are part of the company's efforts to improve profitability after the number of foreign tourists to Japan, its major customers, plunged due to the novel coronavirus pandemic.
