ゴーン前会長逃亡、トルコで初公判　実態解明に期待―関与の７人

　【イスタンブール時事】トルコ・イスタンブールの裁判所で３日、日産自動車のカルロス・ゴーン前会長を日本からトルコ経由でレバノンへ密航させた罪で起訴されたトルコ人７人の初公判が開かれた。被告は有罪が確定すれば、最高で禁錮８年の実刑が下される見通し。公判を通じて逃亡の実態解明が進むことが期待されるが、トルコ検察は黒幕とみられるレバノン人実業家らの身柄を確保しておらず、どこまで真相に迫れるかは不透明だ。
　起訴状によると、昨年末の逃亡に使われたプライベートジェット（ＰＪ）を手配した運航会社元幹部のオカン・キョセメン被告やＰＪ操縦士ら５人がゴーン前会長を密航させた罪、客室乗務員２人が密航を知りながら通報しなかった罪に問われた。
　７人の中で中心的な役割を果たしたキョセメン被告の銀行個人口座には逃亡事件前、合計で約３３００万円相当のユーロと米ドルの不審な入金記録が残されており、これが逃亡に協力した謝礼だった可能性がある。
　キョセメン被告は公判で「金銭的な利益のためにやったことではない」と述べ、無罪を訴えた。入金については以前のフライトの謝礼金だと主張した。
　キョセメン被告は検察に対し、レバノン人実業家のニコラス・メザロス容疑者の依頼でＰＪを手配したと説明し、「ゴーン前会長が乗っているとは当初認識しておらず、知った後は協力を拒まないようメザロス容疑者に脅された」と主張。「自分も事件の被害者だ」と訴えている。トルコ検察はメザロス容疑者が逃亡を手引きしたとみてレバノン当局に捜査を要請した。
　メザロス容疑者は、音響機器の箱にゴーン前会長を潜ませて日本から密出国させた元米軍特殊部隊員マイケル・テイラー容疑者らに対し、逃亡への協力を事前に要請していたという。テイラー容疑者については東京地検が逮捕状を取り、米国で身柄を拘束された。（2020/07/03-20:48）

An Istanbul court Friday held the first hearing of a trial for seven Turkish people suspected of aiding former Nissan Motor Co. Chairman Carlos Ghosn's escape from Japan to Lebanon.
   The trial is expected to help uncover details of Ghosn's escape in late December 2019. But it is unclear how much will be revealed as Turkish authorities have yet to capture the Lebanese businessman thought to be the mastermind of the getaway.
   According to indictments, Okan Kosemen, a former executive of the airline that operated the private jet used in Ghosn's escape, the jet pilot and three others are accused of smuggling the disgraced businessman out of the country. The other two, both flight attendants, allegedly failed to report the smuggling though they knew of it.
   If found guilty, the defendants are expected to face a maximum of eight years' imprisonment.
   Authorities have discovered 33 million yen worth of euro and U.S. dollar deposits in a personal bank account of Kosemen, the central figure among the seven, made prior to Ghosn's flight. The money may have been a reward for cooperating in the escape.
