三井Ｅ＆Ｓが艦艇事業譲渡　三菱重工へ来秋めど

　経営再建中の三井Ｅ＆Ｓホールディングスは１２日、傘下の三井Ｅ＆Ｓ造船が手掛ける護衛艦の建造・修繕などの防衛省向け艦艇事業を、三菱重工業に譲渡することで基本合意したと発表した。譲渡する事業範囲などを詰めた上で年末をめどに最終契約を結び、２０２１年１０月の譲渡完了を目指す。
　日本の安全保障にかかわる護衛艦の建造は、三菱重工とジャパンマリンユナイテッド（横浜市）の２社に集約される。
　三井Ｅ＆Ｓは既に艦艇建造で三菱重工と協力関係にある。譲渡後も、創業の地である玉野艦船工場（岡山県玉野市）での建造と修繕は継続する予定。三菱重工も「工場の閉鎖は考えていない」と説明している。（2020/06/12-20:01）

Struggling Mitsui E&S Holdings Co. has announced a basic agreement to sell its destroyer manufacturing and repair, and other shipbuilding operations for Japan's Defense Ministry to Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. .
Mitsui E&S, formerly Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., and Mitsubishi Heavy are expected to sign a definitive deal by year-end, aiming to complete the business transfer in October 2021.
