北朝鮮、新型ＳＬＢＭの試射に成功＝外部勢力の「脅威抑止」

　【ソウル時事】朝鮮中央通信は３日、北朝鮮の国防科学院が２日、新型の潜水艦発射弾道ミサイル（ＳＬＢＭ）「北極星３」の試射に成功したと報じた。北朝鮮は２日、ＳＬＢＭとみられるミサイルを東部・元山沖から発射し、日本の排他的経済水域（ＥＥＺ）内に落下させており、このミサイルを指すとみられる。
　朝鮮中央通信は北極星３の試射成功について「外部勢力の脅威を抑止し、国の自衛的軍事力を一層強化する上で、新たな局面を開いた重大な成果となる」と強調した。金正恩朝鮮労働党委員長が試射に立ち会ったかどうかは伝えられていないが、発射を成功させた国防科学院に「熱烈な祝意を送った」という。
　報道によると、ＳＬＢＭは元山湾で発射され、ミサイルを通常の軌道より高く打ち上げる「ロフテッド軌道」を意味する「高角発射方式」で実施。発射は「周辺国の安全にわずかな否定的影響も与えなかった」と主張した。
　党機関紙・労働新聞（電子版）は、水中から発射され、空中でエンジンに点火し、オレンジ色の炎と煙を出しながら上昇する北極星３の写真を掲載した。ただ、ＳＬＢＭが発射された潜水艦は写っていない。（2019/10/03-08:08）

North Korea's Academy of National Defense Science successfully test-fired a new type of submarine-launched ballistic missile on Wednesday, state-run Korean Central News Agency said Thursday.
   KCNA apparently referred to a projectile launched by the authoritarian country on Wednesday morning. The object, believed to be an SLBM, fell into Japan's exclusive economic zone in the Sea of Japan.
   The news agency said that the successful test-firing of the Pukguksong-3 missile was of great significance as it ushered in a new phase in containing outside forces' threat to the country and further bolstering its military muscle for self-defense.
   North Korean leader Kim Jong Un sent warm congratulations to the defense academy, KCNA said, although it did not mention whether he observed the test-firing on the ground.
   The SLBM was launched on a lofted trajectory from Wonsan Bay in the eastern part of the country, KCNA said, adding that it had no adverse impact on the security of neighboring countries.
