車生産、欧米で徐々に再開　新興国は見通せず―新型コロナ

　日本の自動車各社が、新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で停止していた海外工場の再開を進めている。北米や欧州では操業の動きが徐々に広がるものの、需要低迷でフル稼働にはほど遠く、部品調達は「綱渡りの状態」（大手関係者）が続く。東南アジアなど新興国の多くでは先行きが見通せず、世界規模での「正常化」への道は険しい。
　トヨタ自動車、ホンダ、ＳＵＢＡＲＵ（スバル）の３社は、３月２３日から停止していた北米工場での生産を１カ月半ぶりに再開した。日産自動車は米工場の操業を５月下旬から「１カ月かけて段階的に戻す」（広報）。マツダはメキシコ工場を６月１日に再開させる計画だ。
　欧州ではトヨタがフランスやポーランドなどの工場を稼働させた。ロシアではトヨタが５月１１日、三菱自動車が１３日に再始動させ、日産は今月中の操業を目指す。英国ではトヨタが２６日、日産は６月初旬の再開へ準備を進める。
　新興国の多くでは新型コロナ拡大に伴う混乱などから再開時期が不透明だ。インドではスズキが５月１２日から一部で再始動。一方、トヨタ、ホンダ、日産ではめどが立たない。移動制限が続くインドネシアではホンダが３１日まで休止、ダイハツ工業は未定だ。ブラジルではトヨタが６月１９日、ホンダが同２５日まで操業を見送る。
　各社とも消費マインドの低迷を受け、再開しても生産量を上げづらい。「グローバルで部品調達をいかに調整するかが重要」（ホンダの倉石誠司副社長）との声も上がるなど、本格的な生産へ解消すべき課題は多い。（2020/05/16-06:43）

Japan Automakers Resuming Production in U.S., Europe

Japanese automakers have started to resume their production gradually in the United States and Europe after suspensions due to the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
   But their operations are far from returning to full capacity as vehicle demand has slumped globally.
   Parts procurement "is still on a tightrope," an official of a major automaker said.
   Despite the progress in the Western countries, Japanese automakers are not sure when they can return to regular production on a global scale, because of persistent uncertainties in emerging economies including Southeast Asia, industry sources said.
   Toyota Motor Corp. , Honda Motor Co. and Subaru Corp. have resumed production at their plants in North America suspended from March 23.

Switch to Japanese
