大相撲の三段目力士がコロナで死去　勝武士さん、２８歳

　日本相撲協会は１３日、西三段目８２枚目の勝武士（しょうぶし）さん（本名末武清孝＝すえたけ・きよたか＝、山梨県出身、高田川部屋）が同日午前０時３０分、コロナウイルス性肺炎による多臓器不全のため、東京都内の病院で死去したと発表した。２８歳だった。
　協会員の新型コロナウイルス感染による死者は初めてで、厚生労働省によると国内で２０歳代以下の感染者の死亡が報告されたのも初めて。
　相撲協会によると、勝武士さんは４月８日に東京都内の病院に入院。転院先で１０日にＰＣＲ検査で陽性と判定され、１９日から集中治療室で治療を受けていた。
　勝武士さんは２００７年春場所初土俵。部屋では師匠の高田川親方（元関脇安芸乃島）や十両白鷹山も感染し、その後退院。勝武士さんは幕下以下だったため、当初は非公表だったが協会員で最初に感染が確認された。
　相撲協会の八角理事長（元横綱北勝海）は「１カ月以上の闘病生活、ただただ苦しかったかと思いますが、力士らしく、粘り強く耐え、最後まで病気と闘ってくれた。安らかに眠ってほしい」との談話を出した。
　大相撲は夏場所の中止が決まっており、協会は７月１９日～８月２日に名古屋から東京・両国国技館に場所を変え、無観客による本場所開催を目指している。（2020/05/13-16:07）

Japanese sumo wrestler Shobushi died from multiple organ failure linked to pneumonia caused by the novel coronavirus at a Tokyo hospital on Wednesday. He was 28.
   Shobushi, whose real name was Kiyotaka Suetake, is the first sumo wrestler to die from the virus. He was a member of the Takadagawa stable, competing in the sport's third-lowest sandanme division after making his debut in 2007.
   It is the first confirmed coronavirus-linked death of a person under 30 in the country, according to the health ministry.
   The wrestler was taken to a hospital in Tokyo on April 8 and tested positive for the virus at another hospital in the capital on April 10. He had been in intensive care since April 19.
   Shobushi was the first sumo wrestler to test positive for the virus. But his name was withheld at the time because he was a low-ranking wrestler.
