医療従事者に拍手でエール　新型コロナ、最前線の奮闘に謝意―茨城県

　新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大で「医療崩壊」の危機が指摘される中、茨城県は、最前線で奮闘する医療従事者にエールを送ろうと、県庁の職員や来庁者らが拍手して感謝の気持ちを示す運動を始めた。毎日正午ごろになると、参加を呼び掛ける庁内放送が流れ、３０秒間を目安に自席や廊下などで拍手を続ける。同趣旨の取り組みは福岡市でも開始しており、各地に広がりつつある。
　茨城県の運動は９日にスタート。ウイルス対策に最前線で取り組む医療従事者らをたたえるため、欧州を中心にインターネット交流サイト（ＳＮＳ）を通じて広まった活動「クラップ・フォー・ケアラーズ（医療従事者らへの拍手を）」に倣った。
　日本看護倫理学会などによると、新型コロナウイルスの陽性反応が確認された医療機関では、タクシーの乗車拒否や、引っ越し業者からのキャンセル要請など、職員が理不尽な扱いを受けるケースが見られるという。
　茨城県内の保健所長らと連日ウェブ会議を行っている大井川和彦知事が、こうした医療従事者への差別解消の取り組みを求められたことを受け、運動の実施を決めた。県の担当者は「多くの方に賛同いただき、応援していきたい」と話している。３０代の男性職員は「気休めかもしれないが、少しでも医療従事者に感謝の気持ちを示せたら」と語った。（2020/04/19-07:22）

The prefectural government of Ibaraki in eastern Japan has launched a campaign to show appreciation for medical personnel tackling the novel coronavirus epidemic, asking people to clap their hands for the workers.
   The prefectural government announces a massage around noon every day, asking people to give applause for medical workers for about 30 seconds.
   The movement is spreading to other parts of the country, with a similar initiative having started in the southwestern Japan city of Fukuoka.
   The campaign in Ibaraki, which started on April 9, is modeled on "Clap for Carers," an initiative that is spreading mainly in Europe through social media to pay tribute to those working in the frontline to combat the coronavirus.
   According to the Japan Nursing Ethics Association and other sources, some workers at medical institutions dealing with coronavirus infection cases have faced unreasonable experiences, such as being rejected by a taxi and being asked by moving companies to cancel contracts.
