自動車業界、追加関税回避を歓迎＝農家には不安の声も－日米貿易協定

　最終合意に達した日米貿易協定で日本車への関税上乗せが回避されたことについて、日本の自動車業界からは歓迎の声が上がった。２５％とも言われる追加関税が発動されれば、打撃は甚大で、国内の雇用などに対する悪影響が避けられなかったためだ。一方、農業関係者の間では、市場開放が進むことへ不安の声が聞かれた。
　日本自動車工業会の豊田章男会長（トヨタ自動車社長）は２６日の記者会見で、合意内容について「日米両国のステークホルダー（利害関係者）にとって大変いいことだ」と評価。「自由で公正な貿易環境が維持・強化されることを歓迎する」と語った。
　大和総研の試算によると、米国への自動車・同部品の輸出に２５％の追加関税が課された場合、日本側の負担額は約１兆２０００億円。こうした最悪の事態は回避できたものの、通商交渉で強引な手法を取ってきたトランプ米大統領が相手だけに、「将来的に追加関税が蒸し返されることは本当にないのか」（大手メーカー関係者）と警戒する声もあった。
　一方、全国農業協同組合中央会（ＪＡ全中）の中家徹会長は、米国産コメの無関税枠設定が見送られたことについて「生産現場は安心できる」と歓迎する談話を公表。ただ、牛肉や豚肉など農産品の関税が削減されることに警戒感も根強く、北海道農業協同組合中央会（ＪＡ北海道中央会）の飛田稔章会長は「農業者はこれまで以上に将来に対する不安を抱いている」と懸念を表明、政府に丁寧な説明を求めた。（2019/09/27-07:11）

The Japanese automotive industry has welcomed the result of Japan-U.S. trade negotiations, with additional U.S. auto tariffs now unlikely to be imposed on Japan.
   The outcome is "very good for stakeholders in both countries," Toyota Motor Corp. President Akio Toyoda told a press conference Thursday as chairman of the Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association.
   "We're glad that the free and fair trade environment will be maintained and strengthened," he said.
   Many in the Japanese industry are also relieved that Japan avoided a cap on auto exports to the United States, which made Canada and Mexico accept such restrictions in negotiations to revise the North American Free Trade Agreement.
   Meanwhile, the U.S. government refused for now to abolish its existing auto tariffs on Japan as it had agreed under the Trans-Pacific Partnership multilateral trade deal, from which the United States withdrew on the heels of President Donald Trump's inauguration in January 2017.
