聖火ランナー、応募５３万件超＝最高は兵庫県の２２４倍－東京五輪

　２０２０年東京五輪・パラリンピック組織委員会は２６日、五輪聖火リレーのランナーに延べ５３万５７１７件の応募があったと発表した。今後、公募した各都道府県実行委員会とスポンサー４社が候補者を選考。組織委が最終決定し、１２月にメールで通知する。
　組織委によると、４７都道府県のうち３県で応募倍率が２００倍を超え、兵庫県の約２２４倍が最高。５３万件超には要件を満たしていないものも含まれているとみられ、有効な応募数は確定していない。応募は各都道府県実行委のうち一つ、スポンサー４社を合わせ最大５回可能だった。
　五輪聖火リレーは移動日を含め１２１日間で４７都道府県を回り、ランナーは合計約１万人。（2019/09/26-20:23）

The organizing committee for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics said Thursday it has received 535,717 applications for the Olympic torch relay.
   Japanese prefectural committees and four sponsor companies will screen candidates. The organizing committee will make the final selection and notify the successful applicants by email in December.
   The ratio of applicants to available spots in the torch relay surpassed 200 in three of Japan's 47 prefectures. The figure was highest in the western prefecture of Hyogo at some 224, according to the committee.
   The number of valid applications is not yet known, as those not meeting requirements are believed to be included.
   Potential torchbearers were allowed to apply up to five times, to a prefectural committee and the four sponsor companies.
