子ども食堂、被災地で活動続く　外からの支援「頼みの綱」―能登地震

　子どもや親子らに無料や低価格で食事を提供する「子ども食堂」の活動が、能登半島地震の被災地で続けられている。被害の大きい奥能登地域では、現地の運営組織が被災のため活動が困難となっているケースもあり、石川県内や全国からの支援が頼みの綱となっている状況だ。
　石川県珠洲市では３月末、県内外の子ども食堂など６団体が合同で出張型の子ども食堂を開催した。子どもが喜びそうな祭りの屋台を意識し、チョコバナナ、わたあめ、豚しょうが焼き丼などのメニューを用意。この日は親子連れなど計約５０世帯が訪れ、子どもたちは歓声を上げながら、温かい料理やおやつに舌鼓を打っていた。
　同県能登町から３～８歳の子ども４人と来た波瀬めぐみさん（３４）は、勤務先の珠洲市の工場が被災し、仕事に復帰できるめどが立っていない。収入面の不安から気軽にスーパーに行くのもはばかれるといい、「こうした支援を活用して、何とかやりくりしていかないと」と話した。
　被災地で活動する金沢市の子ども食堂「かなざわっ子ｎｉｋｏｎｉｋｏ倶楽部（くらぶ）」の喜成清恵代表（５３）によると、被害が大きかった輪島市では地震前、８カ所の子ども食堂が活動していた。しかし、運営する同市社会福祉協議会では職員が被災した上、ボランティア受け入れなどに忙殺されており、活動が難しくなっている。
　喜成代表は「金沢市での物資配布に、片道４時間かけて輪島市から受け取りに来た被災者もいた。自宅避難など孤立しがちな世帯のためにも、現地での活動継続は必要だ」と話す。
　全国の子ども食堂を支援するＮＰＯ法人「全国こども食堂支援センター・むすびえ」（東京都渋谷区）は、被災地の子ども食堂を支援する団体を資金援助しており、基金を設置して寄付も募っている。
　同法人の森谷哲プロジェクトリーダーは「子ども食堂は食べるだけでなく居場所としても機能している。避難先から戻った人が集えるなど、コミュニティーの再生にもつながる」と話し、支援の必要性を訴えた。（2024/05/05-07:04）

"Kodomo shokudo" cafeterias that offer meals to needy children for free or at low prices continue operations in areas stricken by the Jan. 1 powerful earthquake in the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture, central Japan.
   But some kodomo shokudo operators in the Okunoto region in the peninsula, which was hit particularly hard by the 7.6-magnitude quake, face difficulties offering their services due to damage from the disaster and are therefore in need of help from other parts of the prefecture and elsewhere in the country.
   In the Ishikawa city of Suzu in the peninsula, six entities from within and outside the prefecture jointly held a kodomo shokudo event on March 31, with menu items including children's favorites such as chocolate-coated bananas, cotton candy and a bowl of rice topped with ginger fried pork.
   On the day, children and others from about 50 families visited the cafeteria, enjoying warm dishes and sweets in a festive mood.
   Among them were Megumi Hase, 34, and her four children aged between 3 and 8 from the town of Noto, adjacent to Suzu.
