円大幅安、１５０円台半ば　東京市場、３カ月ぶり水準―財務官「必要あれば適切に対応」

　１４日午前の東京外国為替市場の円相場は、１ドル＝１５０円台半ばに大幅下落した。米長期金利の上昇を受け、日米金利差の拡大を意識した円売り・ドル買いが強まった。昨年１１月中旬以来、約３カ月ぶりの円安水準。午前１１時現在は１５０円５４～５４銭と前日比９６銭の円安・ドル高。
　財務省の神田真人財務官は同日朝、記者団に対し「最近の動きはかなり急速だ。投機的なものも見受けられる」と発言。為替介入などを念頭に「高い緊張感を持って為替市場を注視するとともに、必要があれば適切な対応をしていく」と市場の動きをけん制した。
　鈴木俊一財務相も取材に応じ、急速に円安が進行する為替の動きについて「急激な変動は望ましくない」と指摘。その上で「より一層強い緊張感を持って市場の動向を見ている」と述べた。（2024/02/14-11:57）

Rapid fluctuations in foreign exchange rates are "not good" for the economy, Masato Kanda, Japanese vice minister of finance for international affairs, said Wednesday, referring to the dollar's latest surge above the psychologically important line of 150 yen.
   On current exchange rate trends, Kanda told reporters at the Ministry of Finance in Tokyo, "There are both parts that are in line with fundamentals and movements that are clearly speculative."
   "We will monitor the foreign exchange market with a high sense of tension," he said. "We'll take appropriate responses as needed."
   Asked about the possibility of Japanese authorities launching a yen-buying, dollar-selling market intervention, Kanda said, "We'll take the most appropriate response based on circumstances."
   In Tokyo currency trading, the dollar stood at 150.71-72 yen at 9 a.m. Wednesday, up from 149.58-59 yen at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
