「五輪は会場で」は４割以下　開幕近づくもやや減少―時事世論調査

　開幕まで５カ月となった東京五輪・パラリンピックについて時事通信社が実施した世論調査で、「開会式、閉会式や競技を会場で見たいか」を聞いたところ、昨年７月の同じ調査から０．４ポイント減少し、３６．７％にとどまった。新型コロナウイルスの感染拡大も背景にあるとみられる。
　五輪・パラを「会場で見たいか」との問いに「ぜひ見たい」は９．２％、「できれば見たい」は２７．４％で合計は３６．７％。昨年７月の同じ調査では３７．１％で、２０１８年の４５．６％から下がり続けている。
　「まったく見たいと思わない」は２３．２％、「それほど見たいと思わない」が３９．５％で、見たいと思わない人は計６２．８％に上った。
　見たいと思わない人に理由を８項目から複数回答で聞くと、最多は「テレビ放送などで十分」が７０．０％。「会場が遠くて行くのが大変」３８．５％、「夏の暑い時期で熱中症などが不安」２２．０％などの順だった。
　観戦チケットについては、「申し込んで抽選に当たった」は１．３％。最多は「購入するつもりはない」の６９．６％で、以下「申し込まなかったし、今後購入するか未定」が１５．８％、「申し込んだが外れ、今後は未定」５．６％、「申し込まなかったが、今後購入したい」４．７％、「申し込んだが外れ、今後購入したい」２．４％という結果だった。
　大会開催についての不安を１０項目から複数回答で聞くと、最多は「期間中、渋滞や混雑で交通機関の利用が不便になる」の３９．９％。「開催費が膨らみ、税金で穴埋めされるのではないか」３８．０％、「日本が犯罪やテロの標的となるのではないか」３７．２％が多かった。
　調査は２月６日から９日、全国の１８歳以上の男女２０００人に個別面接方式で行い、有効回収率は６１．１％。（2020/02/23-13:32）

Fewer than 40 pct of Japanese people want to watch the Tokyo Olympic or Paralympic Games at event venues, a recent Jiji Press opinion poll has shown.
   According to the survey, 9.2 pct said they definitely want to watch Olympic or Paralympic opening or closing ceremony or competitions at event venues, while 27.4 pct want to attend such events if possible.
   The total figure of 36.7 pct is down from 37.1 pct in July last year, the last time the survey covered the subject, and 45.6 pct in 2018.
   As many as 62.8 pct said they do not want to attend such events. The figure includes 23.2 pct who said they do not want at all to watch them at event venues and 39.5 pct who do not want to attend them so much.
   Asked about reasons, with multiple answers allowed, 70.0 pct said they are satisfied with television broadcasts and other types of coverage, 38.5 pct said event venues are too far away to travel to and 22.0 pct said they are worried about heatstroke and other problems due to expected high temperatures during the Tokyo Games period.
