子の神経性やせ症、高止まり　摂食障害、コロナ前の１．６倍―２１年度調査・成育医療研

　新型コロナウイルス流行に伴い、摂食障害の一種「神経性やせ症」と診断される２０歳未満の患者数が高止まりしていることが１８日、国立成育医療研究センター（東京都世田谷区）の調査で分かった。流行が本格化した２０２０年度は前年度比約１．６倍に急増したが、２１年度も同水準だった。同センターは「環境の変化や学校行事の中止などが複合的に影響したのでは」と分析している。
　神経性やせ症は極端な食事制限のほか、過食後に吐き出したり、過剰な運動を行ったりして体重が正常より明らかに少ない状態になる疾患。進行すると日常生活に支障を来す恐れもある。
　同センターは今年４～５月、全国の３０医療機関にアンケート調査を実施。初めての外来診療で同症と診断された人数について、２４機関から有効回答を得た。
　その結果、２１年度に神経性やせ症と診断されたのは男児３７人、女児２８６人で計３２３人となった。１９年度は２０３人（男児１８人、女児１８５人）、２０年度は３１８人（同２７人、同２９１人）となっており、２１年度は２０年度と同水準の多さだった。有効回答数は異なるが、同症で新たに入院した患者数も同様の傾向が見られた。
　調査責任者の小枝達也副院長は「生活環境の変化によるストレスや新型コロナへの不安のほか、コロナ太り対策のダイエットに関する報道などから影響を受けた可能性があり、原因は複合的だ」と指摘。「子どもの食べる量が減ったことに気付いたら、保護者らがかかりつけ医らに相談してほしい」と訴えている。（2022/11/18-15:05）

New cases of anorexia nervosa among people younger than 20 remained at high levels in Japan in fiscal 2021 as the novel coronavirus pandemic dragged on, a survey by the National Center for Child Heath and Development showed on Friday.
   In the year to March this year, the number of people younger than 20 who were diagnosed as having anorexia nervosa on their first hospital visits totaled 323, or 37 boys and 286 girls, according to the survey with 30 medical institutions across the country, of which 24 provided valid responses.
   The result was little changed from fiscal 2020, when the pandemic came into full swing and new anorexia nervosa sufferers under 20 totaled 318, or 27 boys and 291 girls, jumping 1.6-fold from 203, or 18 boys and 185 girls, in fiscal 2019.
   The latest survey was carried out between April and May this year.
   The number of new young inpatients suffering from the eating disorder also stayed at high levels.
